This good tool to repair the registry has minimalistic interface that looks rather dated. It includes several buttons and a panel where the results are displayed. Free Windows Registry Repair had the longest scan time of all the registry cleaners tested, but the results of the scan look decent. This freeware registry repair tool automatically creates backups, and you can set the program to create a system restore point before repairing errors and to ignore missing files on removable drives. This free PC registry cleaner for Windows is available for free download here.
A lot of free registry cleaner tools promise to optimize your PC, to make it faster and more efficient, and to remove any errors found in the registry. Nonetheless, cleaning the registry alone will not boost performance, but many programs provide additional tools such as drive cleaners, startup program managers, RAM cleaners, and more.
We are going to review the best free registry cleaners for Windows we found on the market. Our selections include programs simply dedicated to cleaning the registry and others that also provide PC maintenance tools.
Auslogics Registry Cleaner is highly regarded as one of the best free Windows 10 registry cleaners, and having tried it we totally agree. Simple and effective, this registry cleaning software allows users to conduct a one-press scan across registries.
While a handy and powerful tool, the CCleaner free PC cleaner is basic in its free form. As you perform PC maintenance tasks, you will find that many cleanups are locked behind the paywall of the premium versions. Backup is also an awkward experience that takes longer than the one-click approach used in other registry cleaner software.
Interestingly, SlimCleaner also has an Advanced menu which hides plenty of features. For example, there are options for configuring files and customizing the Start Menu and Notification Tray. This free registry cleaner also boasts a strong community that rates each function and lets you know which of those would be worth using.
Unlike the majority of registry cleaning softwares on this list, JetClean is first and foremost a free registry cleaner and limits the amount of system management tools. We see it as a great advantage, as this registry cleaner is dedicated to offering a fantastic registry cleaning experience.
One of the best registry cleaning softwares for users due to its no-frills functionality, AML Registry Cleaner is a tool that gets the job done with minimal fuss. An easy-to-use and free registry cleaner with no added PC scanning facilities, AML is a fantastic choice for users who just want to have their PC clean.
I got this interesting idea...what do you think the chances are of implementing software that can create a (negative?) acceleration curve in windows that will negate the effects of poorly implemented mouse control in games that have no way to make the movement linear? If windows smooths out the registry curve that is only 5 points, then I guess you could just use that and turn on Enhance Pointer Precision. But if it only creates 4 linear sections from which to calculate the speed of the mouse out of the 5 selected registry values, then yeah, not good enough (and something tells me it does take the linear option.)So if a more complicated software solution is the only option, well do you think this is even possible? I unfortunately I am a terrible noob programmer so I'd have no idea where to start. It would also probably take tedious testing at different speeds for each game with equipment beyond a mouse and surface...but I find the possibility of an invincible acceleration fix for all games quite appealing.
This fix does not turn off mouse acceleration, at least not in a 1:1 way. In Windows Vista and 7 there is an inbuilt mouse acceleration that was fixed by the wcafix, but is impossible to fix with a registry hack. It can not be documented by the mouse movement recorder, because the values it gets are already tampered with by Windows (I know this, I use the raw windows mouse data in my application). There is an easy check for this. Place the cursor to the leftmost of your screen, and place an obstacle directly left of your mouse. Then quickly move the mouse to the right, and slowly move it back again. If mouse acceleration really is off (as in wcafix off), the mouse will hit the obstacle as the cursor hits the left edge of the screen. If mouse acceleration is still on (as with this fix), the mouse will hit the obstacle, while the cursor is still somewhere in the screen.(Interestingly logitech mouse drivers manage to switch mouse acceleration off, however not with all of their mice, the RX250 seems to have hardware mouse acceleration)I'm really desperate, as I really need mouse acceleration to be off, or else my entire application is useless. So if somebody knows some other fix/workaround, I would be very grateful.
